Polygon feature class representing 500ft and 1000ft buffers around Colorado Youth Serving Facilities. Youth serving facilities include the following locations:
• Schools (Preschool - 12th Grade) from the CDPHE CDOE School Locations and District Office Locations Feature Layer (downloaded April 8, 2025; data last updated September 30, 2024), with District Office Locations removed.
• License Childcare Locations from the CDPHE CDEC Colorado Licensed Childcare Providers Feature Layer (dowloaded August 6, 2025; data last updated June 27, 2023).
• Boys & Girls Clubs of Colorado from the state Boys & Girls Clubs webpage and local chapter webpages referenced therein (as of August 7, 2025).
• YMCAs of Colorado from the YMCA webpage and regional YMCA webpages (e.g., YMCA of Metro Denver and YMCA of the Pikes Peak Region) (as of August 8, 2025).
• OpenStreetMap Data for Colorado available via Geofabrik (downloaded August 11, 2025). Features tagged with the following classes were included as Youth Serving Facilities: park, mall, sports_centre, pitch, swimming_pool, amusement_arcade, cinema, ice-rink, theme_park, community_centre, library, playground, stadium, museum, zoo, aquarium, track. This file was developed by the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment for use in the Tobacco Retailer and Compliance Check Web Map and Web Experience.

This school buffers layer will be updated as often as annually, but is dependent upon updates to various source data.
